chickens and goats and pigs, oh my!

We paid a little visit to Hidden Villa this weekend.

We watched the goats and sheep.
(Sophie thought the sheep's loud bleat was VERY funny.)

We saw pigs.

We touched mossy trees.

We walked among the free range chickens and saw their nests.

We looked at the turkeys.

Riding Daddy is always a highlight...

A fun afternoon!

herding cats

Daddy did his best to keep Sophie and her cousins entertained at the Loveday wedding last weekend.

everyone but Sophie screams for...

SJ's first foray into the Wonderful World of Frozen Decadence (a.k.a. ice cream) was wholly uneventful.

She was instead more enthralled by the ribbons hanging up outside.

We're hopeful that she will have a change of heart. Soon.

What's childhood without it?

At this point, I think Soph would argue for the ribbons...

go suck a lemon

Sometimes we have to amuse ourselves in restaurants.

Sophie learned this party trick from Stone, incidentally.

steppin' up

Sophie is learning to go up steps.

We are trying not to be in denial that the next phase will be... ~gasp!~ walking.

A dog is an excellent motivator for mobility for an animal lover like Soph.

This girl could move mountains to get near a snuggly 4-legged companion (or 3-legged, as in the case of our cat). All while of course shouting "DOGGIE".
